• ReNvision Biofuels, SRS partner on 10 Mgy multi-feedstoc k biodiesel plant in Canada : Biofuels Digest 7/1/09: In Canada, SRS Engineering announced that it will build a 10 Mgy multi-feedstoc k biodiesel plant in Alberta. The company will partner with project developer ReNvision Biofuels and utilize camelina, canola and animal residues as feedstocks. Canada has a 2 percent biodiesel mandate in 2012, equivalent to 132 Mgy in built-in demand.
• US corn planting estimates skyrocket: ?Forget $5 corn,? say traders : Biofuels Digest - 7/1/09: In Illinois, the USDA said that 2009 US corn plantings, previously estimated at 84 million acres, had risen to 87 million in the latest estimates. The total is the largest planted since 1946. Observers confirmed that the numers indicated ideal planting conditions west of the Mississippi and underestimatio ns by USDA in March.
